OarPeak was not built in a boardroom. It was built on the river.
Our founder Hari All Shrestha has spent over thirty years guiding on Nepal’s rivers and ten years on Japan’s. For twenty-five of those years he worked with Ker & Downey — one of the world’s most respected luxury expedition outfitters — leading guests through some of the most remote river corridors on earth. He learned what a world-class expedition looks like from the inside. OarPeak is what he built when he decided to do it on his own terms.
OarPeak is a family business in the truest sense. Nischal Shrestha, Hari’s son, leads the company’s international operations, digital presence, and guest communications. Currently completing a Master’s in International Tourism and Aviation Management at the University of West London, Nischal brings the international perspective and management framework that bridges Nepal’s river heritage with the expectations of guests arriving from across the world. He speaks Nepali, Hindi and English.
Between them, father and son cover everything OarPeak needs — thirty years of river knowledge on one side, international tourism management education on the other.
We run multi-day river expeditions and trekking journeys across Nepal. The Karnali, the Sun Kosi, the Tamur, the Kali Gandaki, the Seti. Everest Base Camp, Annapurna, Manaslu, Kanchenjunga. The rivers that defined Nepali whitewater and the mountains that define the Himalaya.
Every departure is led by a government licensed, SWR certified guide. Every river trip carries a safety kayaker. Every group is capped at twelve guests. These are not selling points — they are the way we have always operated.
Nepal’s rivers are changing. The Karnali — our most celebrated expedition — faces a closing window as hydropower development moves upstream. We run it every season while it remains what it is. Two percent of every Karnali booking goes directly to the Nepal River Conservation Trust.
We are based in Nepal. We know these rivers. We have been on them for thirty years.
Come and see what that means.
We seek out off-the-beaten-path destinations and genuine experiences that challenge and inspire our guests.
Your well-being is our top priority. We employ rigorous safety protocols and highly trained wilderness first responders.
We practice Leave No Trace principles and actively support the conservation of the environments we visit.
We build lifelong connections between our guests, guides, and the local communities we partner with globally.
To deliver authentic, sustainable, and life-changing travel experiences that empower local communities, conserve native environments, and create lifelong memories for our guests.
To be the global benchmark in responsible adventure tourism, setting standards for premium, low-impact, and culturally immersive travel that preserves the world's wild places.
